Electrical Technician

Omaha, NE

Improve upon the efficient operation of existing equipment and install new process equipment needed to manufacture high quality feed ingredients and trace mineral premixes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe and overall efficient operation of the production line equipment and the installation of new equipment.
  • Follow safe work practices and safety procedures outlined by Phibro Animal Health and NFPA70E-2015.
  • Install conduit and wiring of appropriate size and type for the application that conforms to NEC code.
  • Follow electrical drawings and wire panels, power, and control circuits that conform to NEC and UL508A standards.
  • Responsibility for executing capital projects delivering the desired performance, staying within budget and within the set time lines.
  • Work seamlessly with IT; install Cat-6 and Optical fiber network cable.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned by the Electrical Engineer or any leader in the organization.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Two year technical degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology or related field, Bachelor degree desirable.
  • Ability to program PLCs along with the ability to reload programs into failed PLCs
  • Good working understanding of NFPA70E-2015 work safety standards and strictly follow procedures necessary for a safe working environment.
  • Basic skills needed to wire control panels that will comply with UL508A.
  • Understanding of control logic, able to read electrical drawings and interpret manuals to correctly setup control components such as VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and various sensors.
  • A working understanding of instrumentation wiring to include NFPA79 code in regard to 4-20 ma current loops, and 0-10 volt analog signals to be able to install new devices and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical information by way of reading for comprehension the technical manuals and also have strong MS office skills to document technical information.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze and solve problems with complicated electrical circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong math and physics skills is desirable but not required, able to apply general Physics equations for proper sizing of components that comply with the laws of physics and codes of agencies that have jurisdiction.

Maintenance Technician

Omaha, NE

The position will be responsible for the safe and overall efficient operation of the production line equipment, tow motors, and facilities. Position may require work on off shifts and reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safe work practices and safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment and tow motors as prescribed by the PM schedule.
  • Perform special maintenance projects including welding, electrical, mechanical and carpentry skills.
  • Assist in training employees on SOP's, tasks, and PM.
  • Team player that can communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Capable of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues in the plant.
  • Goal oriented self-starter with ability to multi-task, think ahead, and organize.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Willingness to pursue further training/education.
